Lillian McDonald

Lillian McDonald is the Managing Director for Twin Cities Public Television’s Emergency Response Services or E-R-S. ERS evolved out of collaborative work between TPT and Public Safety Partners to prepare real time warning and alerts in different languages including Spanish, Hmong, Somali and English.

Before her work at TPT, Lillian was the founding executive director of a non-profit called ECHO or Emergency, Community, Health and Outreach, specializing in multilingual and multimedia programs. Before her public service work as a community leader, McDonald was a broadcast journalist for radio and television stations in the Midwest including WHO Radio-(Iowa), KARE-11 and FOX-9 in Minneapolis. She is has also served as a Public Information Officer for FEMA serving in large scale emergencies including Hurricane’s Katrina.
