Martin C. Jones is a veteran creator of multi-platform filmed entertainment for linear and digital distribution. Jones regularly produces longform scripted and unscripted projects including movies, television series, specials, corporate films, and national commercials for such major brands as Jeep, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Kmart, Tyler Perry, and Grolsch Beer.
His entertainment career spans 30 years, and six years ago he expanded his expertise into starting a full service, in-house marketing department for Oregon Episcopal School in Portland. Jones oversaw the re-branding of the nearly 150 year-old independent day and boarding school. Jones was the publisher of OES Magazine and he led the award winning redesign of the magazine. Other major projects produced by his team include multimedia collateral and presentations for the school’s largest Capital Campaign, the Annual Report, admissions and summer programs advertising, social media, and all video production.
As an independent producer, his productions include the movie version of Grammy winning singer Fred Hammond’s “Christmas…Who Needs It,” indie feature “Why Men Cheat,” and two new series; the sitcom “Little Miss CEO,” and “Our World” which is a  broadcast/web/mobile lifestyle and information series for the millenials. He is developing on a youth entertainment franchise that includes a series of movies, video games, soundtracks, digital content, and graphic novels.
Jones was the Head of Television and Home Entertainment for Bishop T.D. Jakes’ faith based media division. Jones managed a team of over 80 talented producers, editors, and technicians who created a daily television series with an international version, and a weekly show. He was the Executive Producer of five television specials including the star studded Megafest Pay-Per-View special and a live concert/crusade shot on location in Nairobi, Kenya before a live audience of nearly a million people. These productions were groundbreaking firsts in the history of faith-based television.
From 1997 to 2004, Martin Jones was the General Manager for New Millennium Studios, one of America’s largest independent film studio complexes located on 60 acres outside Richmond, VA.  While running the studio, Jones was also very active as a feature and commercial producer-director. The films he produced at the studio include the Miramax release “Asunder,” “Nothin’ 2 Lose,” and “For Real.” 
Jones spent the first eleven years of his career in Los Angeles where he was Executive Vice President of Production for United Image Entertainment and the distribution labels BET Films and BET Pictures.  While serving as the executive-in-charge of production and distribution, he most notably supervised the theatrical release of the critically acclaimed Top 25 ranking independent film, “Once Upon A Time…When We Were Colored,” directed by company partner Tim Reid.
During the mid-90’s, Jones was the Director of Production and Acquisitions at LIVE Entertainment (now Lionsgate), where he acquired films for home video, and pioneered their multimedia division, LIVE Interactive which released the first “Speed Racer”      CD-ROM video game.  He directed LIVE’s participation in a multi-picture joint venture with BET and Encore. Jones developed Steve Buscemi’s debut film “Trees Lounge,” an Un Certain Regard winner at the Cannes Film Festival.
Before joining LIVE Entertainment, Jones was co-owner and Executive Producer of
i.o.u. one productions where he produced music videos for LL Cool J, NWA, Run-DMC, MC Hammer, and Ice Cube.  He also specialized in producing music videos for motion pictures. Previously, Jones was the Director of Creative Affairs at Electric Pictures Corporation.
In the late 80’s, Jones quickly accelerated his career when he became an assistant on the backlot at Walt Disney Studios serving under Marty Katz and John Reid. His first job in Hollywood was in the mailroom at Vestron Pictures, the first major home video company. Upon the success of Veston’s production, “Dirty Dancing,” he became assistant to the head of production Steve Reuther.   Jones started his career working at movie theatres as a projectionist when he was 16 years old in his hometown, Columbus, Ohio.
Jones holds a B.A. degree in Cinema from Denison University where he was a Vail Arts Scholar. Jones lives with his family in Portland, Oregon.
